Iconic floating torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine off the coast of Miyajima Island, viewed during a spring family adventure in Japan

This is Post #1 of our “Where in the World are Luca & Nico?” series

Hi everyone! Nico here, back from a seriously awesome spring adventure.
But I’m not telling you where we went… yet!

We climbed things (some of which we maybe shouldn’t have)…
But that’s a story for another post.

We ate way too much (Luca says it was “balanced nutrition,” I say it was “masterclass in snack-based decision making”)…

The plan was pizza. The reality… was not.
Luca had a “moment.” The pizza place had a reservation.
Only one of them followed through.

At one point, Luca got on a jet ski.
I told him there were sharks in the water.
He says he didn’t believe me…But I saw the way he held on.

And now it’s your turn to figure out where we went first using these clues:

Clue #1:

We visited an island where deer roam freely… and one of them tried to eat Mama’s map. (I tried to stop it, but it was VERY determined.)

Clue #2:

There’s a HUGE red gate that looks like it floats right in the water. Luca called it “the entrance to a magical world.” I called it “the best photo spot for my ninja pose.”

Clue #3:

We took a ferry, climbed a bunch of steps, and saw a five-story pagoda, and I may or may not have declared myself the king from the top.
