Hi there! It’s us, Luca & Nico! Papa brought up our 2019 trip to Valencia during breakfast, and Nico got curious about the adventures he missed—since he wasn’t born yet! So, here’s the story of our magical trip to Valencia, a city full of giant playgrounds, wild animals, delicious food, and even a cat-friendly hotel. Let’s dive in!
A Home Away from Home at The Westin Valencia
Our adventure started at the Westin Valencia, a hotel that felt like home—for the whole family, including Babycat! The room was spacious, the sunlight poured through big windows, and the pool became our favorite spot. Papa and I splashed around while Mama relaxed, phone in hand.
Even Babycat enjoyed herself, lounging by the windowsill as if she owned the place. Grama would’ve called it ‘a vacation for queens!’
Luca & Nico’s Tip: Traveling with pets? Check out pet-friendly hotels like the Westin Valencia—they can make everyone’s trip more comfortable!
Gulliver Park: A Giant Playground for Kids
One of the coolest places we visited was Gulliver Park, a playground shaped like the giant from Gulliver’s Travels. Imagine climbing up his arms, sliding down his hair, and exploring every twist and turn of his massive body. It felt like being in a dream!
Right next door was the Turia Gardens, a massive green space that used to be a riverbed. We spent hours running, biking, and spotting fountains and sculptures. Mama said it was like the city’s secret treasure.
Luca & Nico’s Tip: Pack snacks and water when visiting Gulliver Park and Turia Gardens—you’ll want to stay and explore all day!

Bioparc Valencia: A Wild Adventure
The Bioparc Valencia was like stepping into the wild. The enclosures felt so natural, it was as if the animals were roaming free. I watched lions basking under the trees, giraffes nibbling on leaves, and a gorilla who stared at me like we were having a silent conversation.
Papa explained how the Bioparc recreates habitats to make the animals feel at home, but I was too busy trying to spot every creature!
Science Museum: Hands-On Fun
The Science Museum was nothing like a boring museum. This place was all about experimenting and playing. Papa and I tried building a bridge out of blocks, but it collapsed when we added too much weight. “Science!” Papa laughed.
I also made giant bubbles, played with magnets, and learned how electricity works. It was like a giant playground for curious kids!

Christmas Lights and Spanish Ham
Since it was December, the whole city sparkled with Christmas lights. Every evening, Mama pointed out glowing arches and twinkling trees, making the city feel like a storybook.
Papa, of course, couldn’t resist the Spanish ham (jamón). Every visit to El Corte Inglés ended with him buying more, sliced thin and perfectly salty. He called it ‘the best in the world,’ and I couldn’t argue—it was delicious!
Food Adventures in Valencia
Valencia’s food was unforgettable. At Navarro, the staff treated me like royalty, bringing extra bread and a surprise dessert. “Best restaurant ever!” I declared.
We also visited La Pequeña Pastelería de Mamá, where I had a funny (and slightly scary) moment. Mama gave me a ham sandwich, but the piece was so big, I choked a little! Papa wasn’t thrilled, but I was fine—and now we all laugh about it.
Beaches and Beautiful Neighborhoods

We explored Port Saplaya, a neighborhood called “Little Venice” because of its colorful houses and peaceful canals. It felt like walking through a postcard. Later, we visited Playa de las Arenas, where the soft sand and gentle waves stretched for miles.
Luca & Nico’s Tip: Bring beach toys! Building sandcastles at Playa de las Arenas is a must for kids.
Oceanographic Valencia: Underwater Adventures
We ended our trip at Oceanographic Valencia, the city’s famous aquarium. It felt like diving into the ocean without getting wet! My favorite part was walking through the glass tunnel as sharks swam overhead. The glowing jellyfish were like tiny lanterns, and the dolphin show was amazing.
